A Redwood Falls, Min. officer pursued a brand new Cadillac after attempting a traffic stop. The Cadillac drove off a boat landing, closely followed by the squad car. The squad car was removed from 30 feet of water the next day. Talk about tunnel vision.

Suspected shoplifters, fleeing at high speed, though not being pursued by Woodbury, MN police crash into a vehicle injuring 3 innocent bystanders. In a statement Woodbury police explained, "We were not involved in a chase, a squad car had been driving west on I-94, with emergency lights and siren on looking for the suspect's vehicle."

It is disputed by witnesses that Washington police had broken off the chase of a driver who had fled a scene of a "buy and bust" narcotics sting because, according to DC police spokesman Sgt. Joe Gentile, the suspect recognized the officers. Troubling enough, but a statement by Assistant Police Chief Peter Newsham is nothing less that shocking, "Even if police had violated the policy," Newsham said, "the officers would not be responsible for the children's death. The blame lies solely on the shoulders of the driver who was fleeing." Brings to mind the question-Why do the DC police even have Policies?
